IN THIS LESSON

Think about the music you listen to every day.

Almost every recording you hear has been shaped by technology somewhere along the way. Music may be recorded with microphones, performed using MIDI controllers, edited on a computer, created with virtual instruments, processed with effects, mixed inside a Digital Audio Workstation, and eventually exported as a digital audio file.

Music Technology is the use of these tools to create, record, edit, organize, perform, and share music.

Throughout this course, you will learn how these technologies work—and, more importantly, how to use them creatively.
